Colorado Wing is scheduling a sUAS flight training and check ride day. Please pass onto your member that may be interested. Sign up for time blocks using this online form https://forms.office.com/r/y4c9s6ax1i What: UAS Training. Personnel can sign up for training or a check ride depending on their level of experience. Who: Personnel interested in sUAS flight training or a sUAS Form 5u check ride. When: Time blocks on 16 Dec starting at 0800, running until 1600. Why: To help qualify more CAP sUAS pilots. Where: Jenkins Middle School, 6410 Austin Bluffs Pkwy, Colorado Springs, CO 80923 Participants or units need to schedule transportation to the site. The sUAS team will be there all day and will not be available to transport personnel. Cadets: please bring a CAPF 60-80 and the CAPF 161 with you to the training. If you want to take a check ride you: 1. Must be complete with Achievement 1 if you are a cadet or Level 1 if you are a senior. 2. Must have completed and uploaded a TRUST certificate (https://www.faa.gov/uas/recreational_flyers/knowledge_test_updates) or FAA Remote Pilot certificate to eServices. 3. Must have completed "CAPR 70-1 sUAS Flight Exam" in Axis within 60 days of the check ride. 4. Must bring a completed CAPF 5QU (attached) for the type of sUAS you want to be evaluated on (Skydio 2 or DJI Mavic) It will most likely be cold outside. Please dress for the weather. Special Note: A weather call will be made the evening before the event. If winds are predicted to be more than 20 knots, we will need to cancel due to sUAS limitations.
